My take: Despite their rebranding from EBDesign to EBCreate due to trademark concerns, their products remain a benchmark of consistency. I have found their BC5000 line to be the gold standard of longevity and flavor complexity. Not the most innovative, but if you’re looking for a simple, flavorful vaping experience – either as a beginner or a seasoned vaper — this is my top recommendation.
2. Lost Mary
Fun, Funky & A Little Kinky
Lost Mary is actually a sidekick to Elf Bar and has created its own unique identity. While Elf Bar feels polished and mass-market, Lost Mary feels rebellious and experimental. Their funky, vibrant designs and unique shapes – such as the OS5000 which features a lanyard hole — instantly caught my attention.
My take: Lost Mary’s flavors are generally bolder and more unconventional. I will never forget trying their MaryDream flavor – a weird yet wonderful combination of melon, pineapple and something unexplainable and creamy. It should not work, but it does. Additionally, their MO5000 and OS5000 models feature “Vibration Feedback” that I initially thought would be annoying, but is actually an enjoyable confirmation of a successful connection. When I am tired of the normal fruit-based flavors, Lost Mary is where I turn for a new adventure.
3. Geek Bar
The Powerhouse of Pulse Mode
Geek Bar arrived into my life when I wanted a little more oomph from a disposable. Their biggest claim to fame is the “Pulse Mode” on their devices, such as the Geek Bar Pulse. This is not just a marketing gimmick. By pressing a button, you can switch between a more intense flavor and thicker vapor clouds by basically firing both coils simultaneously.
My take: The first time I fired a Geek Bar Pulse in Pulse Mode (their Miami Mint flavor), my jaw dropped. The extreme cooling effect of the menthol combined with the massive vapor production were unlike anything I had experienced in a disposable prior to this. Perfect for that treat yourself moment. While it will burn the battery faster, the standard mode is still impressive and makes it a great option for anyone seeking a little control.
4. Raz by Nasty Bar
Premium, Simple Option
When I first picked up a Raz TN9000, I knew right away that it felt premium. Sleek, minimalistic design, nice weight and an attractive matte finish. This brand feels like a premium brand, and the performance matches the feel. The flavors are typically more complex and less sweet than many of their competitors.
My take: Raz’s flavors – like their Dark Berry and Aloe Grape – are extremely refined. Clean and crisp, with no aftertaste of chemicals that so many cheap disposables leave behind. Nicotine hits are smooth and the device maintains its flavor integrity right down to the very end of its 9000-puff capacity. Raz is the brand I turn to when I need a more sophisticated, reliable and straightforward vaping experience without the frills and gimmicks – pure, uncompromising execution.
5. Funky Republic (Rebranding to Funky Lands)
The Innovators of Flavor-Based Technology
Funky Republic (now rebranding to Funky Lands) has been making waves with their unique, ergonomic design and the awesome “Show Mode” display showing the e-liquid level. What really sold me though was their focus on flavor. They developed a proprietary system called TIR (Tastes Like Real) technology to specifically utilize high-quality ingredients for each of their flavors.
My take: The hype is real. Their Cantaloupe Apple flavor is, without hyperbole, the most authentic and juicy fruit flavor I have ever tasted in a vape. You can literally taste the individual grains of the cantaloupe and the crispy skin of the apple. Although their rebranding has resulted in some challenges to find them currently available, the core product is proof of innovation. They may not always offer the broadest selection of flavors, however, the flavors they do create are made with an artisan's passion.
A Final Puff of Perspective
With how quickly the landscape of disposables changes with new brands and products being released constantly, and your favorite flavor potentially disappearing tomorrow, the takeaway is to choose brands that emphasize quality control and the preservation of flavor rather than simply providing the highest number of puffs or the wildest claims.
What I have learned from my experiences is that these five brands have continued to deliver on their promise. Your ideal brand could ultimately depend on whether you prefer bold, smooth or innovative flavors, but you can trust any of the above names to give you a better overall vaping experience.
