- Turn On/Off: The button must be pressed five times quickly to power the device on/off. An indicator light will show whether it is on or off.
- Cycling Heat Modes: The button must be pressed twice to cycle through the low (2.0V), medium (2.3V), and high (2.6V) heat modes. The LED indicator light on the device will show the current heat mode.
- Preheat Function: Press the button three times to activate the preheat feature. This allows the user to warm the oil slightly before taking a draw, and is particularly helpful to get a smooth first draw when the environment is cool or when the oil has thickened.
- How to Inhale: The Sprout has an automatic-draw ignition. Simply inhale through the mouthpiece and the heating element will be activated. No button presses are needed to inhale.
Optimal Usage Steps
- Start Fresh: The device should be completely charged for the first time use to get the best results.
- Choose Your Setting: If you’re new to the strain or want to taste the flavors, start on the Low (2.0V) heat mode. You can adjust to a higher heat mode later if you desire.
- Use Preheat if Needed: If you’re in a cold environment or if it’s your first session of the day, use the preheat feature.
- Take a Gentle Pull: Inhale lightly and slowly for 2-4 seconds. Do not use too much force.
- Wait & Gauge: Allow 2-5 minutes to pass before feeling the full effects and then decide if you would like to take another draw.
When and How to Recharge
The internal rechargeable battery will last as long as there is oil in the pod. You’ll know it’s time to charge the device when the light flashes 10 times when trying to use it.
Connect to a standard USB-C cable. The recharge time is approximately 1 hour. The light will shine steadily when the device is charging; it will go dark when the device is fully charged.
Personal Insights & Final Verdict
One of the things that strikes the user the most about the Sprout is its nearly unbelievable compact size. The ability to discreetly vape on the go is a huge advantage. Even more significantly, the confidence that comes from knowing that you are using a device that has been built with safety of the material as a top priority is a big deal. The fact that the company took a seven-figure financial hit to not sell a potentially defective product engenders a great amount of confidence.
In practice, the Sprout works well and consistently delivers a good draw. Most importantly, the anti-clog design is successful. Many disposable vapes deliver good draws for a few days but then become difficult to use due to clogs. That has never happened to me in my testing with the Sprout. The three heat options are a definite plus. With them, I am able to customize my experience from a flavor-focused morning session to a more potent evening experience.
