LEDs used to indicate battery level on your Hidden Hills vape are so much more than just battery indicators. On select Hidden Hills models, they can be viewed as a control panel to customize your vaping experience. Standard disposables do not allow for variable voltage, which allows the user to adjust both the power and temperature to their liking.

As such, based on my experience with a number of vapes, this is a huge advantage over basic models, giving you additional control over the vapor produced, and the intensity of the flavor produced by the vape. This article will explain in detail the Red/Yellow/Green light system, and explain what each light color represents for your vaping experience.
How the Three-Temperature LED System Works
Many users believe that the LEDs on a disposable vape are merely to show battery percentage. However, select Hidden Hills models utilize the LEDs for a more advanced purpose: to provide temperature control. The LED system is designed to provide you options. Each color represents a distinct voltage level, as indicated above. The device uses either a single button or a rapid tapping of the button to move through the three predetermined voltage levels, each represented by a distinct light color. In my testing of this feature, it was a real game changer. It gives you the ability to determine whether you would prefer a cool smooth vape, or a warm vape that packs a punch from the same device. By doing so, you can tailor the experience to fit your mood, or the e-liquid that you have chosen for the device.
Decoding the Color-Coded Power Levels
Below is a complete explanation of the three power levels, as well as the corresponding light colors for each of those power levels, on the advanced Hidden Hills models mentioned previously.
Red Light - The Cool/Smooth Vapor Preserving Setting
When your Hidden Hills vape displays a solid Red light, it means you are currently at the lowest power setting: 2.8V / 6.3W. As such, this is the optimal setting for a cool, smooth vapor. Through my testing of various e-liquids, I found that this setting is ideal for retaining the nuances of your e-liquids because the lower temperatures do not burn off the flavor compounds as aggressively as the higher temperatures do. Additionally, this setting tends to conserve your e-liquid and battery life, and is therefore a very efficient way to enjoy a longer, relaxing vaping session. If you feel that standard vapes are too harsh, or simply want to appreciate the unique characteristics of your e-liquids, this is the best setting for you.
Yellow Light - The Balanced/All Purpose Setting
The Yellow light represents the middle setting of your Hidden Hills' power range, which is 3.2V / 8.2W. As such, this is the all-purpose setting that offers a balance between strong vapor production, and strong flavor. In my opinion, this is the most versatile of the available settings and is probably the most commonly used. While this setting is not as warm as the Green setting, it does produce a significantly larger cloud than the Red setting, and is a great option for everyday use.
Green Light - The Warm/Intense Setting
When your Hidden Hills vape is displaying a solid Green light, it means you are utilizing the highest power level: 3.5V / 9.8W. Since this setting produces the largest amount of heat, it will generate a warmer vapor, and significantly larger clouds. Based on my testing of this setting, it will bring out certain aspects of the flavors in your e-liquids, especially rich flavors like desserts and tobacco, by bringing out more pronounced flavors. However, please be aware that this setting will deplete your e-liquid, and charge your battery, at a faster rate. Therefore, I recommend using this setting when you are looking to create large amounts of vapor and a stronger throat hit, but then switch back to Yellow or Red to prolong the overall lifespan of the device.
How Do I Switch Between the Different Settings?
Depending on the model of your Hidden Hills vape, there may be slight variations on how to cycle through the different settings. Most models require you to rapidly click the fire button (or the only button on the device), 2 or 3 times consecutively. With each consecutive click, the LED light will change from Red to Yellow to Green, signifying the current setting. For the exact tap sequence for your Hidden Hills model, refer to the package materials or contact the manufacturer directly.
Why Does the Light Keep Blinking?
If the LED light keeps blinking every time you try to inhale, regardless of which color setting you are using, it is signaling an error. The most common reason for this error is due to a low battery level, which makes it impossible to maintain the power setting you are using, especially the Green setting. Recharge your device, and the blinking should stop. Blanking can also occur if the connection is loose, or if the e-liquid is completely drained from the device.
Maximizing Your Variable Voltage Experience
For maximizing the benefits of the variable voltage feature, I always recommend starting with the lowest (Red) setting, and working your way up until you find your preferred setting. Take note of how different e-liquids respond to the different power levels, you may find that certain fruit flavors work better with the Yellow setting, while others work better with the Green setting. Finally, keep in mind that using higher power settings will consume the battery and e-liquid more quickly. Using lower power settings when you don't need as large of a cloud can help greatly extend the life of your vape.
